I like putting some time in on barstools too, though not while watching soccer. There are six very nice barstools in my local, all with their back to the TV!

Best not go to this bar then ;)

Yes, that is a tv-screen above every urinal, so you don't have to miss a second of your favourite team's match ;)

Looking at the screen I thought it was CCTV so that you could see who was stealing your car while you have a pee. :o

How are all the buildings coming along?

I put in some effort again this weekend again, finally. Nearing completion now, I'd say, barstools need placement as well as some figures, will post pictures later.

As promised, pictures!

first one is without barstools

And with barstools, they need to be cut off at the bottom, but first the glue has to dry.

They fit very neatly, I warmed up a spare dressmakers pin with a lighter, that drove through the plastic bottom quite easily, leaving a hole just the right size for the barstools. I put in some glue to be sure anyway.

Only thing left is cutting the needle-ends and placing three costumers on the stools (it is not lunch or dinner time, so the place is quite empty)

May have been easier to cut the needles before sticking them in! I presume the needles are why you have costumers?? ;D ;D

I like the pins idea for the seats!

Are you going to straighten the shelves out a bit? They do look a bit like they would after a few shandys... ;D ;)

FINISHED :D

well, that is a first (I think, or one in a very short row ;)). Didn't straighten out the shelves anymore, not sure yet how to (in a simple yet invisible way. But the intererior can still be separated from the exterior, so maybe someday :)

For now, it'll have to do, and to be frank, once the interior is fitted in the pcc-car, you don't see much of it anymore, due to the small windows :S

Wilma (the owner and namegiver of the diner) is helping a business man (in the suit), who is getting some coffee before taking of to the dreadful meeting at the plant that will suck up his whole morning. Jake and Darryl are more interested the way Betty - not her real name, but that's what she's always called at the diner - is preparing their burgers than in the burgers themselves, even though they are quite hungry after having been out in -10C since 5am to clear the pointwork of snow and ice, for the daily business of the Burrard Electric Railroad.

And this is how the scene looks from outside. I have to test it with the interior lighting still, but I don't have a 3 volt battery pack here for testing. Anyway, it is clear that most of the scene is lost from outside, but that's not a problem, that just makes that there is something still to see for people spending more than 10 seconds on looking at the layout :)

Fair enough, Ward, and you are right about visibility. I had the same thing with the hut on Withyn Reach... a squeeze of filler curled up and painted vaguely 'cat' colours is enough to suggest the Station moggy asleep in front of the fire...
